I have the pistol and many papers, commissions and letters from Col. Issac Sheppard. He comanded Lousiana Infantry ( African Descent), at the Battle of Millikens Bend. He was arrested and his commission to General was not confirmed by congress because some of his Black troops went into town and were beat up by some white troops. Sheppard went back into town, found the white soldiers and had them lashed to a wagon and the black troops they beat up were allowed to Whip the white soldiers under Col/Gen Sheppard supervision. He wass court martialed and he lost his commission to General over this, eye for an eye justice. I would like to get a picture of Issac Fitzgerald Sheppard and any other information available about him. I am trying to make a paper on this incident and add to the collection of papers, Citations, Commissions, and personal letters I have of Sheppards. Thank You David Prawdzik 18 Avery Lane Andover, MA 01810 978-687-9125 dprawdzik@comcast.net.
