I think milliken's bend is very interesting for a number of reasons, including the fact that it is no longer here, literally gone to the forces of the Mississippi river. If you can get a copy there is a very interesting article published by The Madison Journal on Friday July 11, 1941 written by Frances Alexander. Also, my father's thesis references Milliken's bend.
